The people of Iraq have had to indure a brutal dictator for nearly 25 years whose leadership has brought them 2 major wars – the Iran War and the Gulf War. During his tenur, he has spent the majority of the oil revenues on building his military and 62 personal palaces, at the expense of the people of Iraq. The country’s education, heathcare and housing are lacking in quality and availability. The United States has appropriated $18.4 billion to support the reconstruction of Iraqi infrastructure, nearly $1 billion is earmarked for buildings, education and heath this year.
